Last year I downloaded a Elive CD and was pretty amazed by it. although it did crash alot but I saw the potential :)

Now, a few month's ago I bought a HP DV9064ea and I thought by myself let's give elive another run and everything runs out of the box once you install it, unbelievable even the integrated webcam seems to function.

Great job with this fine distro :)

When Vista came out, that's when I said,"I have had enough of Windows!".

It gets me that every time Microsoft comes out with a new OS, might as well throw the old one out. Linux is so expandable and we all work together to come out with things as sweet as Elive!

One of the best things i ever tested!!! So fast and smooth, its my dream OS. I have a P4 with 512mb and runs very fast, and i dont even installed it!!!!

Windows Vista? 1GB for optimal performance?? NOT!

This is one of the only 'different' distros that is also fully featured and ready to use out of the box(you know what I mean....) elive Gem also works with my wireless card that isnt supported with uBUNTU anymore(typing from elive now) Its all looking very good!!

Es sencillamente y posiblemente una de las mejores distros que he tenido el placer de tener instalada en mi equipo.

Altamente recomendable por su sencillez de uso sus bajos recursos y su belleza.

Elive 1.9.37 development released

The Elive Team is proud to announce the release of the development version 1.9.37



This release includes major bugfixes


  • Xorg: Fixed a bug in the generation of the xorg.conf file.
  • JFS: Fixed an important and known bug about the JFS root partition mounted as RO. This is due by a wrong check of the battery level in a laptop when the user was in battery mode, if you see again this bug please report it.
  • Aufs: An important update of the Aufs module (RW layer in live mode), this brings us with a lot better stability of the live mode (doesn't affect at the installed mode).
  • Installer: Again some misc fixes on the installer.
  • Kernel version: 2.6.26.8-elive-686 (revision 41)
