It is also VERY easy to get a great working SUSPEND / RESUME in elive!!!!!

I deal with free software and OS's for about two years, and I had experienced installing and using several distros, flavors and ways of thinking about free software. I must say I was really surprised when I tested for the first time E!Live - it worked better than ANY Linux distro, and was even lighter (and more beautiful) than advanced systems, like NetBSD or FreeBSD. This Distro is awesome, you really got to test to understand.

I've been using Linux for a few months now. As every newbie I have installed and toyed with many distros in that time and Elive is the only one that I've always keep in my machine.

Elive is (by far!) the most RAM efficient OS I have ever used, not to mention its great looks.

Thanks to everybody that makes Elive the great distro that it is, I'm looking fordwards to the next release!

Elive 1.9.44 development released

The Elive Team is proud to announce the release of the development version 1.9.44




  • Live: Improved detection of partitions
  • Ram: Memtest updated to 2.11 with more features and special support for core2duo computers
  • Installer: Work on installer to manage mounts/umounts better, but please report any problems that you may encounter with the installer on the IRC channel
  • Kernel version: 2.6.26.8-elive-686 (revision 41)


Note that this is a DEVELOPMENT version. Download the ISO from the development section

You are welcome to join our Testers Mailing List Group to give us a feedback about this development version or any thing else that you wish to report. Help us to make Elive even better and increase the speed of our releases!
