In the midst of the hard development in the Elive Labs. Thanatermesis has been experimenting in secret with a special version of Elive for the New Year! Something that has been wished for/requested for a long time, E17 + Compiz ! As a gift to you, and (as far as we know) the first distro to include this...in a easily installed LiveCD version!

First of all you need to know that this is experimental stuff! Do not expect total stability. Furthermore it may not work with your graphics card (Intel or especially Nvidia is recommended). If this is the case for you, just try out a regular Stable version of Elive instead. There are a few known BUGS on this version of Elive such as having a transparent video playing that eats all the CPU resources >_<

Also do not report any bugs to Elive that you would have with it, ask where to report it in the chat in the Freenode #elive-compiz channel (second icon of your dock)

It works well on Macbooks and also on EeePC's (701). If you want to boot from USB just follow this thread

Note: Ecomorph is a modified compiz, compiz does not normally work under E17. Plus, this version of Elive uses a modified version of E17 for better compatibility with ecomorph

It is strongly recommended to boot from a USB instead of a CDROM, you can do it even if your computer doesn't boot from a USB, more details in this FAQ entry
