I have been using the latest version of the unstable branch. I use it all the time and have had no problems at all. All my hardware, including my SMC USB WIFI is working fine.

I have installed some applications that I use for my businesses. They installed fine, they run fine (LedgerSMB), Opera 9.50, Bluefish. The system is responsive and fast, just what I wanted.

Debian itself is new to me. Your Elive caught my eye, though, and I tried it. Cool. Everything works nicely, and all the most important things are there.

But, the story, and the kudos, don't stop there.

My family is basically Microsoft oriented. The wife and kids have always been hesitant about experimenting with Linux, of any flavor.

My youngest son (age 15) simply fell in love with the Enlightenment desktop, and the window management system.

My old Toshiba Satellite4030CDT laptop suddenly looks and feels like a modern computer thanks to Elive. What a difference from that boring Windows 98! Everything essential like screen settings and AlsaSound worked flawlessly after installation. I even got wireless lan from USB dongle whith help of Ndiswrapper and WICD.

The best distro i used so far! :D

This system is also stable, but not as Stable as the Gold system. The difference is that this system is based on Debian Testing, with frequently updated applications for users who prefer that vs. stability. This system has more "cutting edge" features than the Gold version

We recommends to this system if you are not paranoid about Stability and you can solve small problems that may appear with upgrades, or anybody who want the latest possible version of applications

This is the most unstable version of Elive. In other words, it is the development releases, that include new features that require testing. We recommend this system only for beta-testers and users who want to try Elive before making a donation to download it.

This system is based on Debian Testing, because it is the development process to the Silver versions

We recommend this system only to people who want to collaborate with Elive, reporting bugs and problems to the BTS of Elive or the IRC channel
