Elive 2.1.40 development released

The Elive Team is proud to announce the release of development version 2.1.40
This version includes some misc features like:
- Updated to the stable release of Debian Wheezy
- Engage now works much better with composite and non-composite modes
- noop scheduler configured by default for SSD disks if they are detected
- Updatd to the last terminology version 0.3
- Online applications added like: khan academy, tedx, and codeschools which is a friendly way to introduce and learn programming languages
- Improved autodetection for user language
And the best is yet to come!
We appreciate your feedbacks about the overall speed/lightness of the system compared to last stable version of Elive. You can say something in our chat channel directly from the running system. If you detect any lagging in the system please consider different setups like disabling composite (which you can select on the startup of the graphical system) in order to report improvements. We would also appreciate feedbacks about composite enabled or disabled in old computers, suggestions for better performances, and memory usage compared to Topaz.
Note that these development releases don't include the Elive Installer yet because it's not ready, we also didn't include the proprietary drivers for now (Nvidia/fglrx) but the opensource drivers should detect your hardware and configure your system perfectly.

Elive 2.1.37 development released

The Elive Team is proud to announce the release of development version 2.1.37
This version includes some misc features like:
- Automatic language and timezone configurations based on your physical location
- E17 updated to the new released version with lots of bugfixes
- E17 improvings in the automated positioning of windows in the desktop
- Suspend ready
- Fixed an important bug in the e17 menus
- Fixed a bug with Intel cards when the screen is blanking
And the best is yet to come!

Elive 2.1.33 development released

The Elive Team is proud to announce the release of development version 2.1.33
This version includes some misc features like:
- Google Talk plugin included, you can now do calls with voice and video
- Very much improved way to connect to the internet, with sorting by signal and a complete set of features for any need
- Improved elive tools, with detection of your city and timezones without requiring a GPS
- E17 fixes for keyboard, GL detection and Night mode

Elive 2.1.32 development released

The Elive Team is proud to announce the release of development version 2.1.32
This version includes some misc features like:
- Completed redesign of the Focus system
- Special mode for e17 called night reading, which inverts the colors of your screen making the reading much more comfortable
- Created another mode called sleep, which turns your computer off in a specific time of the day or in a countdown value, configurable for each day and with different types of halting
- Moved from xine to vlc for playing DVDs
- Integrated compatibility of different file-managers with the default one
- Zenity sizes of the box fixed

Elive 2.1.27 development released

The Elive Team is proud to announce the release of development version 2.1.27
This version includes some misc features like:
- Multiple improvements in e17 and startup configurations
- Persistence feature where you can save your data in live mode! explained here
- Better list of languages supported with their required fonts
- Elive now supports more languages than before.
- Audio cards features including better recognition, improved volumes, mic working by default for applications like skype
- Now using syslinux to boot the ISO's, this greatly increases the number of computers Elive can boot on.
- Included new Wine version 1.5.22 to support a wider range of Windows applications.

Elive 2.1.23 development released

The Elive Team is proud to announce the release of development version 2.1.23
The world has not ended, so now... Be Elive!
We are very excited to announce this very-early first development version of Elive and there are many reasons why we are excited! First, we want to remind you that the reason why nothing has been published yet about Elive is that there were a few things to be rewritten to ensure an overall stable system, which will make other programs more compatible and ensures this version works independently well. New ISOs can be built everyday!
And that's not all! Secondly, we have AMAZING new features coming, compared to the last version of Elive Stable 2.0 Topaz, but you need to keep in mind that this is the first development version, and it's still in an early alpha stage. We know that there are a few things to finish, so don't expect it to be working perfectly just yet.

Newsletter: Updates, Elive, Debian, and Enlightenment

Raster and other main developers of Enlightnment talked and presented some things about EFL/Enlightenment, they talked about the future features where they want to focus like a totally integrated composite in E17 itself, there was fun, trolling, and beer. I got a very beatiful towel with the enlightenment logo!
Yesterday in the LinuxCon in Barcelona, Mike Blumenkrantz announced the date for the release of Enlightenment 17, they decided to made a beta release at first of December and the stable release for the day 21 of December, I don't know what will happen if we wake up the day 22 and we still here (joking).
Elive and Future releases
Some people thinks that there's no activity on the Elive development, that's normal since they don't see any activity, but there is a lot of it, a lot of work is happening in the background, to prove it you can see a development ISO in the Development section, but I don't suggest to download it so its not ready for any useful user usage, it only includes updated kernel, updated enlightnement, and only the new enlightened terminal and development tools installed, it was originally made as a temporal need for development so its not useful at all and doesn't give any Elivized experience. By other side this means: new development versions are coming very soon! stay tuned!
Debian is also going to release very soon, nobody knows the date, I suspect that it will be in a month or so, Elive is going to use the new Wheezy future stable release as base, so this is another reason of why Elive needs to be released asap! :)
Development
Every day more sources of Elive are being worked from the the github repositories, so if you feel motivated and have some knowledge, you can try to improve them!
