Is Steve Jobs getting sleepless nights? He should after the release of Elive Gem. Mac users get a run for their money. Vista is no competition... What I liked the most about the distro is that all the packages run out-of-box. Even the mp3s, mpegs and 3gps run on livecd and it is so light on the system! The only disappointment being that the openoffice is not available unless you get the 'bonus disk'

I love Elive too. Best features for me are:

- Based on Debian Stable & E
- desktop (exactly what I want)
- all multimedia works out of the box
- bundled applications are very thoughtful. For example, most people who own computers these days also own a digital stills and video camera, yet most distros don't come with the tools needed for editing home m

Just wanted to say that I love ELIVE! I just got it installed and have been toying with it for an hour or so, and I have 0 complaints so far. My only issue is getting wireless working, and thats only because Broadcomm sucks for not making a linux driver like every other wireless chipset maker. Anyway, I will try to post here as much as possible with issues, fixes, and ideas as they crop up. With the community's help this could be the greatest OS Distro EVER!

Elive is definitely the best looking distributions available. It uses the Enlightenment desktop environment. I have never used Enlightenment before. The ELIVE default desktop is absolutely gorgeous! The stars in the sky twinkle and move throughout the very nice looking background. The application dock at the bottom of the screen is cute, in fact better than Mac OSX. I am soon gonna switch over to Elive. I love it.

I have been impressed with Elive and e17 for quite a while...

Yesterday I did two things:

1. I re-installed Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005

2. I installed a dual boot to Elive Gem 1.0

Both installs went without event, I was most impressed with how Elive set up a custom grub menu, with the 3 options:

1. Elive Gem 1.0

2. Windows XP Media Center Edition

3. Memory Diagnostic test

Documentary Zeitgeist 3 was released!

The Documentary Zeitgeist 3 "Moving Forward" is finally released!

  • Zeitgeist I: Zeitgeist, the first documentary was an University Tesis made by Peter Joseph, it was a "boom" all over internet and was the most viewed video in youtube, talks about the broken and corrupted world basically, a very hard video showing the real and inhuman things that happen in the world, those problems that not everybody is able to see. At that moment it was created a new social movement called the Zeitgeist Movement and Peter Joseph started to receive lots of emails telling him "Yes, we know that the world is f4ck3d up, but what can we do?!", Peter just replied "I don't know!", but then Roxanne Mellows sent Peter the book...

Today we have a really nice news for all the Elive Users

Today, me and Anabell, the new organizer and marketing director of Elive, had a very good idea for Elive, as you know, Elive is an unique operating system in all the world because doesn't follow any rule stablished by the system, Elive has personality and the power to be free as how it wants to be, and now, we are going to include an incredible feature never seen before in any other operating system, but more than a feature is an amazing gift...

Unfortunately I can't say anything about what is this feature, because we want it to be a big big surprise!, we want to listen echo's of OMG in all around the world!, the only thing that I can say about it is that is not very much related with software or applications but is something like an unvaluable gift, even with a good bunch of thousands of money you can't have a better gift, I think that this part is a little fun because sometimes there's a strange user lost around there saying that 15
